God is Provider

Oil and the Flour

1 Kings 17

There was no rain. There was no food. There was a man called Elijah. Elijah was God's helper.

"I will look after you," God said. "Go to the town and I will tell you what to do."

Elijah went to the town. He met a lady and her boy. "Will you give me some food and water?" asked Elijah.

"I have only a little flour. I have only a little oil. I will make some bread with the oil and flour. After that I will have none left," said the lady.

"Go and make the bread," said Elijah. "Give some to me. Give some to your boy, and then eat some yourself. God will look after us."

The lady made the bread. She gave some to Elijah. She gave some to her boy. She ate some herself.

She looked in the flour jar. It was not empty! She looked in the oil jug. It was not empty! God had made more flour and more oil. Every time she made bread, God made more flour and more oil.

God looked after them! Every day He gave them food.
