SIGHT WORDS (High frequency words)
The Dolch 220 sight word list is a list of commonly used English words originally compiled by Edward William Dolch, PhD, published in his book “Problems in Reading”, 1948. Many of the 220 words cannot be ‘sounded out’ so are best learned by sight. Nouns are not included, so teachers are advised to make their own list of nouns that are of most relevance to your particular group of children.
